When we launched Arta Emails, our goal was to ensure that our clients’ customers would get the updates they need (as set up through Email Rules), and our clients could also be notified with key updates (as set up through Email Subscriptions). Though Arta Emails will continue to be available, we wanted to provide every Arta Dashboard user with additional flexibility to stay on top of important Arta updates. Today, we are excited to launch User Notifications, which takes key learnings from how our clients were using Arta Emails and improves the experience in two ways: making updates easier to manage within the Dashboard and in personal email digests, and allowing Arta to launch additional Notification Types more quickly. Most importantly, this new feature gives users additional optionality to be notified when they want, with the updates they choose.
Notifications
Users can now be notified within their Dashboard and an Email digest about key updates to their requests and shipments.
Our notification types include:
- Custom Quoted Requests: A request was custom quoted
- Booked Shipments: A shipment was booked
- Shipment Status Updates: A shipment status was updated
- Shipment Schedule Updates: A shipment’s schedule was updated
- Shipment Tracking Updates: A shipment’s tracking was updated.
- New Comment: Comments were added to a request or shipment
- New Document: Documents were added to a request or shipment
Notifications Inbox
Clients will now find an inbox in their dashboard which serves as a centralized location to view, read, and manage all of their notifications. Just like the management of a typical email inbox, the new interface clearly denotes read vs unread notifications, allows users to expand each notification to view additional details, and gives users the ability to mark notifications as read or unread, or to delete them.
Notifications Settings
Every user can now personalize their own notification settings. If two members of an organization want to receive different updates, they can do so. If a user is part of two organizations, they can set their notification settings differently for each organization.
Users can opt to receive notifications by type. For example, if a user opts to receive “Booked Shipment” notifications, they will receive a notification every time a Shipment is booked within their organization.
Additionally, users can “follow” a request or shipment in order to receive all notifications related to that request or shipment. So, let’s say a user only wants to receive Shipment Schedule Update notifications for all shipments in their organization. But, there is a particular shipment they want to stay on top of until it is delivered. Following a request or shipment allows our users to stay on top of very important shipments.
Email Digest
Our new email notification system allows users to opt-in to a single email digest containing all new notifications at the cadence of their choice: hourly or daily (if there are no new updates, no email will be sent). In contrast to Arta Emails, which include individual emails per notification type for every request/shipment, the new User Notification Digest summarizes all information into a single email. Users can continue to utilize Arta Emails or can choose to receive only the User Notification email digest.
We are excited to roll out these features in the Arta Dashboard to provide more flexibility and efficiency for our clients. Please reach out to our team at hello@arta.io with any questions or feedback on the feature.
