ArtMovement LA was founded in 2014 with a mission to “provide excellent, flexible service and to go above and beyond for our clients.” They aim to eliminate the complications that typically coincide with art logistics “by making themselves and their crew available last minute for whatever job is called for.”
The company considers themselves unique in that they are more than just a logistics company – they are a culture. They encourage their art handlers to make art and pursue their passions by giving them a project space to showcase their work. As a collective of working artists, collectors, and curators, they provide a platform for their clients as well as their team to succeed in the art world.
We spoke with Brian Kirkwood, the company’s founder, about everything from their favorite shuttle route to having Stumptown Coffee on tap at their office.
Q: Where is the favorite place to book a dedicated truck?
A: We run a monthly cross-country shuttle to NYC and back, stopping in various cities along the way.
Q: Do you have any secret sayings or team traditions in the office?
A: We have two: “No Problems, Only Solutions” and “The answer is always yes!”
Q: How do you hope the industry changes in the next five years?
A: We’ve seen the art world flocking to LA in recent years and we hope to see that growth continue!
Q: What is your proudest company moment so far?
A: Installing and curating art work for some of Hollywood’s A-listers is always fun. We have some big expansion announcements coming soon which we’re excited about too!
Q: What is the must-have snack in your break room?
